Across the Border CIC – Modern Slavery Statement

Date: 01/02/2026

Introduction
Across the Border CIC is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our operations and supply chains. As a community-focused organisation dedicated to supporting immigrants and marginalised individuals affected by age, race, and gender disparities, we stand firmly against all forms of exploitation and abuse.

Our Commitment
We recognise the importance of taking proactive steps to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not exist within our organisation or any services we partner with. We are committed to fostering transparency, ethical practices, and accountability across all aspects of our work.

Our Values and Actions

  • We work closely with communities affected by migration and vulnerability, and are especially sensitive to how modern slavery can intersect with these experiences.

  • We train our volunteers and staff to understand, recognise, and respond to signs of modern slavery and exploitation.

  • We conduct due diligence on third-party organisations, suppliers, and collaborators to ensure they share our values and comply with anti-slavery standards.

  • We promote safe spaces and safeguarding practices within all of our programmes, particularly those involving survivors and vulnerable populations.

Reporting and Accountability
We encourage all staff, volunteers, and service users to report concerns or suspicions of modern slavery through our confidential reporting procedures. We take all concerns seriously and will act swiftly to address any risks identified.

Future Commitments
As we grow, we will continue to strengthen our safeguarding policies, implement regular training, and engage in open dialogue with our communities to ensure our practices align with best safeguarding and anti-slavery standards.
